I was 7 when that happened. I had just gotten a new bike that day and was happy that the sun came out and it was a nice day to ride my bike. We went to bed early that night and had no idea about the tornado in Dearborn County that destroyed parts of Logan, Bright, and West Harrison until the next morning. My mom's supervisor and his entire family lost everything, they lived about 4 miles from us.

Since you didn't mention the name of the song on the first and last Local on the 8s clips in this video, it's Nick's Groove by Chris Camozzi, in case you didn't know what it was. That song returned in July 2004.

Specifically, when commercial music came back the most recent non-Network Music returned, which was the February 1995 playlist. Due to changes in the LF schedule, some songs were rarely heard while others were heard more often than the first time around. This lasted a week then they started playing random music before a new playlist was finalized around the 18th. This is somewhat reminiscent of a situation that happened in November 2010 when after the then-current playlist had been running since September 29, the August/September playlist that preceded it (which originally lasted from August 3 thru September 28) had returned for a few days starting on November 3 , but was mixed in with the October/November playlist after a couple hours. This went on about a week just like when the February 1995 playlist returned in early November. I had mixed feelings about it in 2010, it made me really miss summer, but at the same time, it did bring back summer memories. Although a lot of the songs on that playlist had a summer feel to them and seemed out of season playing in early November (if they didn't already when it was late September while it was still fairly warm) when it was close to winter and was cold, for the most part. Would you happen to have clips of The Tryst by Nightnoise and/or True Companion by The Rippingtons from the February 1995 playlist playing in November 1995?

The 2005 hurricane season and this music is the reason I am infatuated with weather now. Very nostalgic! I was 8 years old when Hurricane Katrina made landfall.

We had thunderstorms here where I live that day. April of that year overall, was pretty quiet as far as severe goes. May was more active with severe weather that spring, a little beyond the climatological peak for Dixie Alley. I see I'm not the only one who struggles to control the tracking for the best video quality. It's something that happens I guess when you upload videos that go back 20 or more years.

Mike Seidel, who did the storm update (from 34:20 to 38:36) and also doing the Doppler on Wheels segment from the Tornado Special (44:53), it's unfortunate he got laid off after 32 years on The Weather Channel. I heard that Mike Seidel recently joined FOX Weather. It's a shame that The Weather Channel let go of a really great experienced meteorologist. I always enjoyed watching him.

My 17th birthday was a hot day. I remember it well.
